Whats the point?

Have you ever asked yourself that question? What is the point of this life? Why are we here? This is a question that society has faced since the beginnning of time. There have been many attempts to quench that inner hole in us. Money, Drugs, Relationships, Religion, ect, but none of it really fulfills that desire in us. They are enjoyable for the moment but then we are left even emptier and still don't know what the point of life is.

Many of the rich and famous have lived their lives in great wealth and luxury, but when it came to the end these things had not filled their void. One of the greatest examples is King Solomon. He was the richest man in the world back in biblical times. In fact, Solomon was so rich he didn't know what to do with it all. He also accomplished great things in his lifetime including the completion of Isreal's Temple along with building up a great nation. But after all these accomplishments he went on to write the book of eclesiastes where he explained that all of these things are pointless without God. Nowadays there are many preconceptions about God and if He even exists so let me throw out my reasoning.

There are many reasons why I believe there is a God, but one of the most compelling reasons is we are here. The very fact that you can breathe and read this means that you must exist. If you exist then that means something must have created you atleast indirectly, the only other option is that this world has always existed infinitely, which does not make sense to me. One reason for this is that we know from the third law of thermodynamics that energy is slowly going to a less concentrated state. Therefore if this world has no beginning then everything would already be at that totally unconcentrated state. This ultimately leads me to believe that someone created us. You may argue that we were created through evolution (I don't hold this view but that is a topic for another day) but even then something must have existed before evolution and therefore someone had to start it. So ultimately we are stuck with the fact that someone bigger than us created us and there must be a God.

Since there must be a God I wondered why He created us? There must have been some reason for it. I grew up in a Christian home and so I started looking at Christianity and seeing if it made sense. Not only have I found that it lines up with everything I have observed in my short lifetime, but the Bible has been found to be extremely accurate and hundreds of prophecies have been fulfulled in it. Every prophecy I have found has either already happened or talks about when Christ will come again. I have observed many other religions as well and found that many of them distort Christianity or claim that you can become a God. Also I know that Jesus Christ said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."(John 14:6 NKJV) and I am convinced that Jesus was the son of God for he fulfilled all the prophecies about the messiah, most of which where out of his control, and he performed many miracles that are documented.

Jesus offered us forgiveness of our sins when He died on the cross so gruesomely like we witnessed in "The Passion of The Christ". He said that all who would come to repentance and follow Him would be saved. From following Him I have found purpose in life. I pray that you will seek out Christ too, and find that life is best enjoyed serving Him instead of ourselves.
